Math - Penny Sikes Tournament

2017 Tournament Information

The Penny Sikes 5th and 6th Grade Mathematics Tournament will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Southeast Bulloch High School.  Any fifth or sixth-grade public, private, or homeschooled student within Bulloch County is eligible to participate.  Contact Susan Boddiford at Southeast Bulloch High School for more information (sboddiford@bullochschools.org) for more information.

About the Penny Sikes Math Tournament

The Penny Sikes Math Tournament is open to fifth and sixth-grade students from all of Bulloch County's public, private and home schools.  Students compete individually and in team ciphering events. The event is organized and hosted by the Southeast Bulloch High School Math Department.

 

Penny Sikes is a former Bulloch County Schools math teacher and administrator, who began the tournament in 1983, with an innovation grant from the school system.  The tournament is one of three local math competitions held annually. Georgia Southern University’s Invitational Math Tournament is held each March for middle and high school students, and the Reggie Dawson Memorial Math Tournament is for third and fourth graders.
