Jobs in School Transportation

Thank you for your interest in Bulloch County Schools' Transportation Department. Our transportation personnel help ensure more than 5,500 children are transported to and from school safely each day. Our driving force travels more than 1.3 million miles annually to more than 100 bus stops and more than 1500 field trips and athletic events. Our roving ambassadors are the first and last face that many of our students see each day, and our school buses are an extension of our classrooms. Bus Driver Jobs & Training

Bus drivers have the crucial role of transporting children safely to school.  For this reason, Bulloch County Schools has  a very stringent training process for its new and existing bus drivers.

Full-time, Part-Time, & Substitute Positions: We hire part-time, full-time, and substitute bus drivers. Full-time is five hours per day, so this is an ideal job for retirees, people seeking a second vocation with full benefits, or stay-at-home moms.

Benefits:  Our full-time bus drivers work just five hours per day, so they have part-time hours, but with full-time benefits including medical, dental, vision, and retirement.

Salary: The starting salary for bus drivers is $15.40 per hour. We also offer overtime opportunities if you would like to work more than five hours per day and drive for extended day field trips, athletic events, or our after school and night school activities.

Qualifications: No experience necessary.  We will train you for free. All bus drivers must pass a drug and alcohol test and have a clean driving record. The Bulloch County Board of Education does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, physical handicap, religion, age or genetic information in employment practices or in admission to or participation in any education program or activities.
