Infectious Illness Mitigation and Response

The Bulloch County Schools Infectious Illness Mitigation and Response Guide for Employees and Students is available online .  The school district also distributed the guide to families by email and a printed copy was sent home with all students in October 2021. It was updated on January 2 and January 21, 2022, to reflect new isolation and quarantine guidance that was provided by the Georgia Department of Public Health.

Bulloch County Schools seeks the guidance of the following entities when there are pandemics, epidemics, or any outbreak of illness or infectious diseases that affect the public health of our community and the children and adults within our school district:

  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
  • Georgia Department of Public Health
    • Southeast Health District (regional unit)
    • Bulloch County Health Department (local unit)
  • Georgia Department of Education
  • Georgia Emergency Management Agency
    • Bulloch County Emergency Agency (local unit) 
  • Bulloch County Special Education Department
    • School district's team of school nurses, who are registered nurses and licensed practical nurses
